Current Events > My steam download speed got really trash for no reason

It's normally at 500KB/s but for some reason it went to a max of like 60KB/s after downloading half of NieR. The game's gonna take me 4 days to download at that rate

Youtube, Overwatch, etc doesn't seem to have any problem with slow speed on my computer right now but even when nothing else is running Steam won't break 100KBs rn

Holy god that seems slow even without the speed slowdown.

Few things- Are you streaming anything in the house? Netflix, game streaming etc.
Are you downloading anything else on your PC?
Try to change what server you download things from. In the steam settings I believe.
Get faster internet.

My oldest sister might be streaming Hulu or something but they do that all the time and it doesn't impact my speeds. Not DLing anything else. Frontier is the only provider here with an unlimited data cap, and possibly the only provider, period.

Last thing first- That sucks. I hate the whole industry. Somehow I have good internet from Comcast though.

Try to see if she can turn it off and see what happens with your speeds. Sometimes Steam can just be slow.

She is gross, 21 and 6 months pregnant (unmarried), also she is not gonna stop streaming just because I'm having steam problems
