Before the ACA, people would wake up in a hammock on the beach, to a nice cool breeze, and the rest was sufficient to heal any ailment whatsoever, provided at least eight hours.

No, and it was cheaper and better Obviously not. I know it was bad for people that go their own insurance but I was wondering what situation I would be now pre ACA I get insurance through work. --- The Heart Wants What It Wants ... Copied to Clipboard!

Honestly before the ACA I went for like 6 years without any insurance at all.
Now that I have insurance I go to the doctor for splinters and shit just to get my money's worth. --- R.I.P. Bilbo-Swaggins: Victim of the CommunistFAQS Regime |Brian-Dawkins|http://i.imgtc.com/5yil6xS.jpg. ... Copied to Clipboard!

No, and it was cheaper and better Except if you got really sick. There were lifetime benefit caps and they could cancel your coverage if they searched through your med history to deny you coverage for prexisting conditions. ... Copied to Clipboard!

Would there be cases where you could not get a plan dur to preexisting conditions? So you were basically stuck? depends. I only vaguely remember the terms of my last insurance before the ACA, but it said that Pre-existing conditions would explicitly be covered after 1 year of policy holding. IIRC this was a common thing for employer insurance because employers would often change insurance every year as they always looked for better prices and contracts were always 1 year. So... if your employer was the type that would change insurance every year, you were fucked. If your employer kept a single insurance for more than one year, you were probably ok provided your pre-existing condition wasn't life-threatening. --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

muchdran posted...No, and it was cheaper and better I do not believe this was the case for group policy, but most people don't actually have group policy, even if they got it through the employer. --- ... Copied to Clipboard!
