Or the sole one, such as a dog will go crazy with loneliness when you're away at work or school or having asocial life?

It depends on the breed. Some dogs are very social and pretty much need you around a lot or they develop a lot of attachment issues and separation anxiety.

Cats are mostly okay. They get kind of lonely too but it's doable if you give them love and play with them, make time for them.

If you can't be bothered to make time for a pet, why even get one? They're another life to care for. You need to invest time in it for however long they live.

You could also consider getting a different, less social kind of pet if you still want to. Many non-mammalian animals can live asocially but that doesn't mean you can't still hold and handle them. Here's a picture of one of my mantises. They aren't much of a commitment, but I can still hold them and enjoy being with them.

No. It depends entirely on what sort of pet you have. Cats will be fine, though, they tend to behave better when they have a friend to burn some energy with.

i've had one pug alone for 5 years
then a border collie joined her for 5
then the border collie was alone for her last 5 years
now i have a lab alone for 2 years

all the breeds so far seem completely fine with having another dog in the house or not

if anything, my border collie and pug DID NOT like each other. they kept their distance for the most part
