Oblivion to Skyrim - 5 years
Skyrim to ??? - 6+ years

In 2018, the wait between Skyrim and ES6 will officially be the longest wait between entries. And from the sounds of it, Bethesda isn't even working on ES6 yet soooo how much longer for ES6? >_>

They're pretty good about keeping their progress under wraps until they're ready to reveal it. Plenty of people were convinced that Fallout 4 still wasn't in development right up until the day it was officially announced, and Skyrim's development was similarly tight-lidded up until the announcement. I wouldn't waste time pulling guesses out of my ass over how far along ES6's dev process is, but I'd be very surprised if it wasn't currently in dev in some way shape or form.

The dream is that they're taking their sweet time building a new engine and using it to cram Summerset, Valenwood and Elsweyr together for ES VI: Dominion. I don't put a ton of faith in Bethesda, but I can still dream.

Here's an article from June that says it's not even in development. Pete Hines of Bethesda said they're tired of making Elder Scrolls games and the devastated wanna experiment. Total bummer.
