I just bought a game and was sure to make sure my computer could handle it, but when I go to play it, absolutely nothing happens.

I searched for solutions and the only thing I got was to go to "verify integrity of game files." I clicked it about ten minutes ago and absolutely nothing is happening. I have a window that basically says 0%. My connection is working and otherwise the computer is fine... I also tried after installing the recent updates.

Any solutions? This is getting very aggravating. I've never used steam, so cut me some slack.

I did. The only thing I can think to do is to reinstall the game but I'm just not sure whether the validation process may take a while? A YouTube video I watched did the same thing but said it sometimes takes a long time.

I literally spent my *entire* day fighting, arguing and swearing over the phone. While I somehow managed to resolve all of this is a very friendly way, I am just beyond taxed right now and it's my fault for assuming that such a popular service may actually just, y'know... work?

Point is, I guess I know what I'm going to have to do tomorrow: call and try to get another refund.

I swear, if people just stopped pushing my buttons and messing with me, I would be so much more pleasant.

this is important, particularly if it's an older game. V:tM Bloodlines literally wouldn't do shit unless I launched Steam as Administrator, for example, no matter how many times I restarted my computer.

But FWIW your problem is something that I encounter when I leave steam running for a really long time and it hasn't updated in forever.

Seriously, 85% chance it's a problem with the game, not Steam. Steamclient is a glorifed launcher and DRM, little more.

Okay TC

From my research it sounds like you need to find a configuration file that will let you launch the game from there, and apparently it can be found in the game's main directory or by right clicking it in steam.
