Your friend is a moron Anyways as someone who has worked in an ER and psych areas I'll say I've never met anyone who has regreted surviving a suicide attempt and one of the few things that will bring me to tears is a girl who attempted suicide and ended up in the ER. She seemed better. We were talking and she was saying how dumb she was and what she wanted to do and where she was going to go to college and how she was so happy to be alive. She ended up dying shortly after my shift and I'm starting to tear up just typing this... If you need help get in touch with emergency services. I can't say what it's like in every area but the hospital I worked at wasn't nice or expensive. Most of the people there were uninsured. The staff was incredible and were there to help. Medications aren't forced on people that aren't actively violent. They are there especially for suicidal patients to get you feeling better and discharge you with a plan that will allow you to cope. I can not urge enough to seek out help. If you're going to kill yourself anyways what does it hurt to try. Anyways one of the saddest and happiest quotes I ever heard was made by a survivor that had jumped off the golden gate Bridge (didn't hear this in person just read it).
