Been there for a month now. I got 6 matches. But 2 of them were fakes. 1 I talked to for a bit, but she barely responded. She eventually unmatched me. Another one she actually texted me first and said "hello (poop emoji). I laughed and asked "what's with the poop emoji"? Then she unmatched me. The last two I sent messages too, but neither one ever replied.

This app is bullshit. Everyday I waste my time on there swiping right until I run out of likes and have to wait 12 hours. It's been two weeks since I got any matches. All this does is further lower my self-esteem.

Lately I have become impressed just by the shear number of people who are single and looking for somebody.

Anybody who complains about the lack of people to date or idiots. There are an insane number of single and attractive people out there who want to meet someone. Whether they want to meet you is a totally different story of course.

1.) Use OkCupid. Removes an entire step from the process (the swiping). You can just straight up send a message and then get ignored, rather than just getting ignored before even getting a chance to send the message.

2.) Lower your standards. I went in the first few weeks only swiping/messaging super hot 10/10 chicks. But I forgot to factor in the fact that I myself am not a 10/10. Accept the fact that you're online, and the hottest of hot women are already taken and have no need to be online dating in the first place.

It's why I don't ever want to try these dating apps. My self-esteem is already shot (but unlike some people here I don't whine about it and I still try to be presentable in public) and getting into something like this would be a bad idea.

People often have extra high standards on the internet for some reason. Hard to know how legit the responses were.

Okay if both tinder AND okcupid fail, then you're probably doing something wrong.

Sending 50 messages doesn't indicate effort. Someone could send 50 messages in a day. Were the messages you were sending pesonal or could they be applied to every single person on the site? What did your profile look like? Did you seem like an interesting, fun person to be around? Were all of your pictures blurry selfies? You have to remember that you're competing with tons of other guys for the same women. You have to stand out from among the crowd
