and I have nothing to hide really. If CNN, some crazed liberal or someone like that actually came at me I honestly would find it funny if someone really attacked me over a meme pic

Like I thought it was stupid before, but seeing that they got so rustled by a pic that they tracked down the creator and threatened him.

Lol

Don't do it because there's probably some actual fucking nutjob that would do something and I actually like you.

CNN is at fault if their pressuring for censorship leads to copycat trolls seeking attention.

That's a potential consequence of a major network not handling such disputes privately.

Who reads a story about a news network doxing someone and thinks "wow, that's cool! I want to experience that"

It's honestly funny to me that a major network would try to dox someone over a wrestling meme gif

It's so absurd it's great. We live in some odd times.

I can't believe 4chan/Reddit/Internet Culture has such an impact on the real world and that huge corporations feel threatened by them, and I don't just mean this instance

For me personally it's more the fact that Reddit willingly handed over identifiable data that turns me off, and I'm never using that site again for that reason. Giving that data to law enforcement over a possible threat is one thing, but this wasn't a serious situation.

Would be cool to see the trump sub go down as a result when they realize their admins can basically sell them out whenever they want, hell it would be cool to see reddit go down in general.

I mean I don't think doxing is funny at all. Whether it's done over a meme or less comedic matters. Maybe that's just me tho

I'm not trying to say what they did wasn't wrong. Obviously I think it's terrible, especially over something like this. The only time I think doxxing is ok is when someone is in trouble and you need to find out where they live to save their life etc

I guess I just have a sick sense of humor

Like not even doxxing, but if someone murdered me over a meme, that's funny to me. I mean I wouldn't be alive to laugh, but come on man....

it's a meme

what info did they hand over

the CNN article says they just found personal information the guy had posted on Reddit, not that Reddit admins gave them his private info
