My father is turning sixty-four in three days, and is starting to show signs that he's getting old. He's staying home more often as of late, and I'm starting to feel that the time that he must retire is starting to get nearer... I seriously feel so much guilt that my parents let me live under their roof without even asking for any rent. If I lived on my own, I'd be paying at least nine hundred dollars a month in addition to the costs of buying food and other essentials. I don't even make that much in two months. I mean, I'm paying off my tuition with my own money, with help from financial aid, but I'm still living rent-free in their home. They still must work to pay the bills, and I know they're getting tired each day. Recently, the both of them got sick, and now I'm just worrying so much about their health... I can never repay them for letting me live here for so many years; my only hope is that I can get a job once I graduate to help take care of them. Then I feel guilty because I want a place of my own with which to have some privacy with some girl. I feel guilty that I wouldn't want my mom or dad there, and still I must repay them. I want to be near my parents to take care of them, but not so near such that they can hear me having fun with some girl... I'm such a selfish bastard, I know. >__<

I glanced at her for just a moment as she rounded a corner of the stairwell. Then she told her friend that she had to pee. Now I feel that it's all my fault. So I answered her (incorrectly, because I wanted to answer her before anyone else got to), and I can't remember what she said... But she didn't seem to have any problem with me then. I think she made some off-handed comment about how she was unprepared for it, but I wasn't really listening. Now I remember: She said, "Shit", and started to flip her book... I hate my wife and kids, they're a huge drain on my happiness.
