Why is it so impossible for a majority of people to have the game case, manual, and disc? I've always wondered this. Should be researched with like a grant and everything.

I actually agree. Some GameStop employees have gotten annoyed with me because I will NOT buy a pre-owned game hat doesn't have its original slip and manual. I don't want that generic cover--I want what it came with originally. T____T

That being said, I don't buy pre-owned anymore. :3

Yeah I'd never buy used, much less gamestop. Still, this is a question that I pose not only to all the friends I've ever had that played video games, but to my siblings, my very own flesh and blood as well. It's the same with dvds and their cases, but not as much of a deal breaker as losing video game cases and manuals.

Only time I won't mind is old ass PS1 games. But yeah, more modern games should always have that shit.

Edit: Only reason I don't mind older stuff is that it's hard enough to find it as it is.

I threw some of my ds and 3ds cases out to save space. Put them into a multi cart case that's the same size.

I put my games into those big cd books and store the cases. About 15 years ago my mother threw out all the cases and manuals.

I was so sad

A huge pet peeve of mine as well.

All my games are still in immaculate condition. Well, except for maybe one where I used the Shit Souls 2 disk as a frisbee.

I understand it for the NES/SNES/N64 when they came in shitty cardboard boxes. But there's no excuse anymore.

Yeah it's crazy how people don't completely care like weirdos for their 25 year old SNES game boxes. It's as if they spent their childhood lending games to friends, selling stuff, and moving. As if stuff gets lost or misplaced. Especially junk like game boxes.

it's even more pathetic that there's people who won't buy a game just because of a missing little book that they'll never need to read

Pretty sure this more about disc based formats as a case provides the bit of protection that's expected of something that's moderately fragile.

Are you talking about people who "don't have the case" when they trade in at GameStop?

I don't know how many people this represents, but I like to collect my games and remember the ones I had even if I end up trading it in, so I keep the case for myself since there's no problem trading it in without one.

I couldn't care less about the manuals, especially since most games these days have a built-in tutorial anyways. But any game I buy a physical copy of, I make sure to keep the box safe.

Especially since these days said book has some warnings, some legalese, and MAYBE a picture of the controls.

Because boxes take up a lot of room and it's easier to put a bunch of games in a cd wallet
