Like, the show definitely had its moments before that, and s3 had Lash and Hive which were pretty cool I guess, but the show would always have moments/episodes that just kinda fell flat. But instead for s4, we had Ghost Rider, Darkhold, the Patriot, AIDA/LMDs, and the whole Framework story arc. I was pretty thoroughly entertained throughout the entire season, especially once the Framework kicked in. IMO they pulled off the "alternate reality" stuff pretty damn well despite it being a pretty tried-and-true cliche with virtual reality-type stories. Poor Mack :(

That's actually when/why I stopped watching. I absolutely HATE when shows use that trope.

It was revealed that he had a daughter who died when she was eight or so. In the virtual world, she was alive and - even after learning that he was in-fact living in a false reality - didn't care that she was fake. He stayed in the Framework while it collapsed around him until even his daughter was erased from existence.

Too bad. It was honestly the best the show's ever been.

meh I mean like I said, IMO they pulled it off well. It wasn't used as a "Gotcha!" plot twist out of nowhere, but rather, they built up to it over the entire season and fleshed it out to the point that it was pretty cool and unique to the show.

yeah that. Mack's actor did a great job with those struggles

Nah, the Framework portion was a boring drawn out cliche. Spent those episodes just waiting for it to be over and get back to the real plot.
