I was scanning through my ads and noticed my local hardware store has all the July 4th stuff like usual. But front and center are these green light bulbs. With the "Shine a green light for our veterans."

What the hell is this? Who pulled this out of their butts? I mean since when is this a thing? What's suddenly wrong with yellow ribbons and the plain old american flag to show support.
And then green. Green?

It's been around for a few years at least. There are a couple green lights in my neighborhood; I assume that's the reason but couldn't say for sure.

Yeah, it has been around for a few years. There are a bunch in my neighborhood, my house included.
