I've never done a factory reset before, but now I need to in order to solve a startup error caused by a power outage while it was most likely installing a system update.....>___>
Apparently you can choose to keep your installed games and apps. I use an external 1TB HDD along with it so that should be fine, right? Or should I unplug it at some point in this process? What about save files? You should unplug the hard drive before you reset

It says "Erase all accounts, saved games, settings, and home Xbox associations, but keep installed games & apps" under the "Keep games and apps" factory reset option.
