if it actually plays like Soul Edge then they could go fuck themselves. Soul Edge -> Soul Calibur is an even bigger jump in quality than Street Fighter -> Street Fighter 2.

Yay because I just want a new Soul Calibur game no matter what it takes. It's one of my favorite series of all time, and I put hundreds of hours into both SC2 and SC5 because they were two of the most fun games I've ever owned. Even if SC5's plot is retconned, I don't care. I just want more Soul Calibur to play.

Though I do want the majority of 4's cast back, and I wouldn't mind a couple of the newcomers from 5 staying anyway.

I made so many different created characters in SC5, from all kind of different games/shows and for all of the different fighting styles. My main styles I used were Raphael, Nightmare, Pyrrha Omega and Ezio Auditore, but I tried out (and made a custom character for) pretty much all of them at some point.

I enjoyed SC5's character creation so much. Here's a few of my favorite creations:

Besides the character creation stuff, SC5 was praised mostly for its balanced gameplay and its very smooth online play that had little lag. But it was criticized for its lack of single-player content compared to the older games, the main story's focus on two less-than-stellar characters (Sophitia's son and daughter), and the unfortunate exclusions (RIP Talim) from the roster. These flaws were the result of the game being rushed in development.

If you know you'll have friends to play the game with and/or are fine with a relatively barebones single-player experience, then SC5 is absolutely worth the buy because of the great gameplay and extensive creation mode. But if you want a single-player experience close to that of SC2, you'll be disappointed.

It's worth mentioning that both SC5 and SC2HD are on sale right now on Xbox 360, but only SC2HD is backwards compatible on Xbox One right now.

Damn. Literally not a single friend in the world to play with. I'm all about the single player experience. Thanks for the info. I don't have money to waste on things like that. :(
