Mary Jane Watson has no fashion sense and Aunt May is hot. The MCU is 10 kinds of fucked up when it comes to Spider-Man. They know exactly what they're doing too because it's not a character they get to keep.

2) People are idiots who care more about the race change than the change in characterization.

They are completely new characters with the names (or in one case nickname) of existing characters. I don't like it ether but well I the story and movie are good I can over look changes. Alternate universes are allowed to make changes as long as they actually make things interesting and enjoyable.

Calling someone "Jane Doe" when they're not really Jane Doe is gonna somehow give that character more meaning? People are just supposed to accept that artistic liberty means the person writing can attach whatever name they want to whatever character they want and nobody should notice anything out of place?

Just leave the character out.

She's not Mary Jane. Her nickname is still MJ so she is the movies version but her name is not Mary Jane Watson.

Aunt May being more attractive does not bother me. How she was so old always bothered me. She felt more like a grandmother then an aunt in the comics.

Flash bothers me not for his race but that he's not a jock bully but a rival bully.

The Ned thing is pointless.

Yet at the end it's an alternate reality so they are allowed to change things. The movie being good is what actually matters. You can change everything for all I care if the end product is worth watching.

Not for me.

I'll take a 6/10 movie which is true to the source material than a good one which takes a lot of liberties. A good movie can be found anywhere. A good adaptation can only be found where a rights holder has respect for the source material.

Part of the reason I've enjoyed the MCU is because, for the most part, I don't know these characters and can't complain about the changes they've made.

Jarvis isn't AI in the comics? Don't tell me what he is then because I don't want it hindering my enjoyment of the movies with Iron Man.

So what you're saying is that it's okay for MCU to fuck with characters you don't care about, but they'd better leave the ones you do care about the fuck alone.

You know, Skye, that's the exact reason why I like the Avengers movies so much and get angry at the DC movies. I know the DC stuff so them making these blatantly wrong annoys me but I have no idea about most of the Avenger backgrounds. That's why "the twins" bugged me in Avengers 2, though I got over that.


As for this, I'll wait and see... I've seen some good stuff from them so far so I mainly just hope it isn't Spider-Man in an Iron Man suit. I hope he losses that suit fast.

Supposedly, the PS4 game takes place after he has some experience under his belt, so...maybe you'll get your wish...maybe.

Though Yuri Lowenthal voicing him makes it kinda hard to tell

Can't say I care one way or another since I'm neither a huge fan of Spider-Man and I've grown pretty apathetic of the MCU (and Marvel in general).

They can do what they want I guess, I'm not going to watch it regardless.
