I supposedly killed the final boss, Richter, expecting there to be much more meat to this game and then the ending happens. I then go look things up on youtube and I realized I missed a shit load of things. There's tons of items, weapons, abilities, locations I haven't seen. I haven't even encountered HALF the bosses.

Why would the game let me finish it when I haven't even seen half of it? Now I have to go back and look for all the stuff that I missed but I don't even know where I'm supposed to go.

Can you guys point me in the right direction?

Taken from an old topic on here. These get you to a place where you acquire an item needed to get past Richter to the other part of the game.

find the silver ring and the gold ring and equip them both while standing in the big clock room in the center of the castle.

hint: in order to get the silver ring, you need to get the spike breaker armor, and in order to get that you need to get through the dark spike room in the lowest part of the castle, and you will need the bat sonar relic (press Y to see in the dark, while in bat form) to get through alive.

The second area isn't that great though so missing it isn't the worst thing tbh.

I already have the gold ring, was confused why the clock room didn't do anything.

is that under the underground cavern? I see there's a whole area I've missed there. Are there any other big areas I could have missed completely?

I'm not sure myself as it's been a while and I kind of stopped in the second part bc I got the best weapons in the game and it became way too boring after that. If you don't have the silver ring then go anywhere you haven't been since I think it's gotten from or after a boss battle.

Also, when you finally get the rings and open up the room directly under the clock room and get the item there, equip that when fighting Richter and you'll see what you actually have to attack to move on in the game.
