there's nothing glaringly with season two, but it doesn't have the depth of the later accepted (4-8) seasons

The high is 104 degrees today. It's currently 98 and climbing. St. Louis is so awful

Seasons 2 and 3 are interesting to me since they're so much more grounded and realistic than later seasons (even just 4 onward, though obviously it didn't get completely ridiculous till much later). But 4-8/9 are definitely still better.

Is it humid there? It's only 86 here but it feels miserable with the humidity

It is very humid though not as humid as it has been the last couple of days. The weather has been disgusting for like a week straight

the new MN MLS team is really really bad. I know it's hard to do well in the first year in any league, but the new Atlanta team is doing pretty decent. Probably a much better run organization

Also, the Kyrie thing makes no sense. Maybe he's young enough that he cares more about money and being the number one guy than he cares about winning as many rings as he can. Not like he has much chance of winning rings with the knicks or in miami (sadly) and he wouldn't be the number one guy in san antonio as long as Kahwi doesn't go anywhere (plus all the other team reasons why that doesn't work).

If Kyrie cares about money his best bet is staying in Cleveland with the new CBA agreement's extra possible money for staying with the team that drafted you.

Murica is in the gold cup final. I think I'm following international soccer more closely than any other sport right now.

There are so many egomaniacs in the NBA now. I don't even think it's about the money. It's just that nobody wants to be Scotty Pippen, the "sidekick" player. Everyone would rather play on a losing team and still get national praise like Iverson or Carmelo. Maybe make it to the HoF because they took half of the shots on their team and had good stats. Kyrie is probably looking at Chris Paul's legacy and thinking "That could have been me". (I'm not saying Chris Paul takes half the shots, just that he's viewed as the leader and gets all the respect)

On the other hand...

It's easy for the fans to root for the Westbrook guy who puts his heart into all the games and he still comes up short, but he tried his hardest so you can't blame him. I think this is where Kyrie is headed. A guy like Kyrie, who doesn't get much credit when the Cavs win, also gets blamed when they lose because he didn't step up as LeBron's right-hand man. I could see why playing alongside coach/GM/potential greatest ever LeBron would be tiring.

Now LeBron is saying that he won't waive his no-trade clause, which is basically a big fuck you to the organization if you operate under the assumption he's going to be leaving next year. They totally deserve it though.

Okay, maybe that's just mobile internet in general, but it always seems extra awful here. This is why I don't like the infatuation with touch screens that society has had for the past decade

That's why I find this site almost unuseable on my phone. That, and there's always hidden stuff trying to load, and when I click on a topic the screen loads in stuff at the last second and moves the screen and I clicked on the wrong thing.

It's annoying, but touch screens and mobile sites/apps have gotten a lot better lately. I don't think there's a better alternative at this point. Would you rather go back to blackberry trackball or something?

I've been seeing a lot of love for gyro stuff lately, oddly enough. Not sure if that could really be implemented effectively in the phone space though and you'd still need touch for the keyboard

Yeah I guess there wouldn't really be an alternative for the problem I described, but it's too bad they don't really make phones with physical keyboards anymore

I don't like Swype specifically, but I think they kind of started the whole gesture typing thing and it works pretty good on the google keyboard I use. There is still stupid stuff about it though, like how when I try to write "okay" it seems to come up with "ovary" half the time

Swype stopped working for me a few years ago and I've been doing it on Google keyboard ever since as well. I think it's good. Every now and then it goes slow or I have trouble getting the right word out but being able to type quickly with just one thumb is pretty great. Also I agree with MNTwins1991 that Dunkirk is great.

So I went to the Foreigner with Cheap Trick concert tonight. Foreigner played 12 songs and Cheap Trick played 14... It's Foreigner's tour. How do you play 12 songs as a headliner?

My old standby, the bacon and swiss buttery jack. I will have to get a new order for the foreseeable future.

They don't have Jack in the Box here. I miss them

I never really think to eat there now, but I had it a lot in college since they were open 24/7

I went there a lot when they started doing munchie meals but I always felt so shitty after eating them

I like it a lot and have never felt bad after it before this. Who knows, it might not be the food, but I still threw up like an hour after eating it so now they're linked in my mind. Oh well.

There was like a 12 year period in my life where St. Louis wasn't allowed to have Wendy's for some reason but it's back now. That was one I didn't realize how much I was missing it until I had it again.

I've seen lots of old groups that play for longer though. Fleetwood Mac did 23 songs when I saw them, I believe.

Is it called Hardee's or Carl's Jr where you guys live

I just read that the Carl's Jr HQ was in Anaheim and the Hardees HQ was in St Louis until a few months ago when they merged offices in Tennessee. So I guess that answers the question for two places.

I don't really understand regional branding. Wouldn't it strengthen your brand to be consistent everywhere? I've heard people come here and say stuff like "What's Carl's Jr?" but then they know what Hardee's is

Also something far crazier than the names is that the little sub restaurant that serves bad Mexican food is called Red Burrito in Hardee's but Green Burrito in Carl's Jr

I didn't know they were merged. Dreyer's/Edy's is a weird one because I think they were always the same company, but maybe that was just a way to give both guys credit. I always thought it was weird that our Kroger here is called King Soopers, although IIRC I found out recently that King Soopers wasn't originally part of Kroger
