Fucked up my back so I don't do lower body anymore, I do cardio though.

So my workout right now is only upper body, right now I work out three times a week, thinking of upping it to four.

A couple of days at least for your muscles to recover from being torn and lots of protein for them to rebuild new strands of muscle.

What did you do to your back and how badly is the injury.

When I strained my lower back I couldn't do a lot of upper body exercises because of how it impacted my core and back.

Hurt it squatting/deadlifting, somehow it doesn't hurt during bench or OHP.

I got my ass handed to me on /r/fitness by a seriously, seriously strong dude on there for suggesting that you shouldn't lift the same body part more than 3 times a week. He explained that he literally does bench every day of the week, and the real consideration is more down to your programming and loads, not frequency.

I'll see if I can find the post. It was interesting. I guess the answer is not so much how often, but how heavy.

r/fitness is just the blind leading the blind, a bunch of dudes who have learned everything they know about weighlifting either on message boards or through gym locker room hearsay giving advice to other guys who have learned everything they know about weightlifting either from message boards or through gym locker room hearsay

The guy I'm talking about competes on the semi-pro powerlifting circuit and is at least as strong as PPP or Scorpion41. Not everyone on reddit has to be a circlejerk dweeb, even if most are.

eh

here's the secret to becoming a pro powerlifter or bodybuilder:

- eat a shitload of grilled chicken & vegetables every day
- lift heavy weights consistently and very often
- take tren, dbol, etc and weird test supplements you buy off the internet

rinse later repeat for like 2 years and you're good to go. everything else is basically anecdotal broscience
