I like satellite radio (SiriusXM). Does that count? Can't stand terrestrial radio though.

This, usually the Symphony Hall channel these days. Saves me from having to make any sort of choices about what to have playing, while also being a decent way to find new stuff I enjoy.

Same here, I love listening to my bois Lauren Rico and Vincent Caruso ya feel me BREH?

It's what I use. I'd rather pay to not listen to ten minutes of ads every 15 minutes.

Wait, you're homeless and you're paying for a subscription to satellite radio? I get that not subscribing isn't going to make the difference on you finding a home, but wouldn't that be better spent on a Planet Fitness membership or something? Then you could have a place to take proper shows and they have (admittedly unhealthy) food.

Nothing ruins a classic rock block like Aerosmith, Bruce Springsteen, Van Halen, Bob Seger, and Bad Company.

There are many more bands than that who ruin classic rock. I used to think it was my favorite genre, but eventually I realized I only genuinely like a small amount of bands. Pretty sure I drank the Kool-Aid a bit too much on the edgy "born in the wrong generation" culture and convinced myself that meant I had to like all classic rock.

Audio books are for people that can't read.

And nobody cares about podcasts.

>Not negotiating your contact to only pay $80 a year.

I may be homeless "not for long in the process of moving in with some roommates again." but I admittedly ate pretty well. (not having to pay utilities, or rent meant I had a lot of money for food).
Actually I probably ate better while being homeless than when I was living with people.

I used a setup like this and cooked most of my meals in parking lots and parks.

Also I always showered at truck stops, or rest areas. At least at these places you got a sense of privacy.

Paying something like $250 a year to use a shower was pointless. Also the gyms around here "from what I've heard" typically frown on having homeless people use the showers and nothing else. The last thing I wanted to do after walking 16-20 miles a day at work while lifting microwaves and mattresses was lift weights or walk some more on a treadmill.

The trick to staying clean and going without showering is to work at a pace to never sweat. It was pretty easy to do from late September to about this May. June has been hard giving the string of triple digits we had out here.

Using some wet paper towels to wipe one self down and proper deodorant goes a long way in maintaining the image and smell of being clean.

I think a big part of it is the classic rock standards are overplayed and over-hyped for what they are. I can appreciate the songs and bands for what they are and what they did, but I've heard enough for a lifetime. There are only a couple classic rock bands that I still enjoy because I enjoy everything they did. Yes and The Who being two of them. But in all honestly I'd rather listen to New Wave/Dark Wave, and classic alternative.

I usually do unless I'm listening to a CD. But my local radio station is generally a lot better than most.

Huh, I didn't know you could get satellite radio for only $80 a year. I think PF is more like $120 a year but the $10 a month thing might just be an introductory price, and I sort of see your point.

I love Yes, but I don't really think they're classic rock. They're from that era, and are pretty well-known, but they don't get that much radio play.
