Since it was close I used a random generator to pick the choice between B and D.

D. Wait for the soldiers to be overrun, then drive over any remaining infected and living soldiers. Any military-grade equipment you can secure is sure to be useful later.

Ignoring the woman in need at your windshield, your opportunist side sees this as a valuable moment that can help you out. Like a vulture circling above, you watch as the soldiers open fire on the infected, mowing at least 8 or 9 of them down. You watch in horror as the infected spread out, some jumping over fences, others running in full stride, yelling distorted words and screaming as though their minds are slowly being taken over by whatever parasite is infecting them. Two soldiers are immediately pounced on and bitten, scratched, and mauled-- the sound of gunfire is deafening, yet you can hear their cries of agony. One soldier tosses a grenade on his fallen comrade, killing him along with the four infected tearing into him. You see three other soldiers share a similar fate, though they manage to kill at least a dozen infected before falling. The last three soldiers in the back scurry to get into their vehicles. One manages to drive off, one makes it to the door of the other military vehicle yet is grappled and eventually bitten to death by the other two infected. The last soldier appears to be hurt, as he grasps on to a wound. He tries to drive away, running over several infected, but the vehicle becomes stuck on the pile of bodies near it. In the panic, he tries to run out of the vehicle to the bank nearby-- he may just make it. He begins firing his rifle in your general direction, killing some of the infected right on him. You drive, full speed, at the poor soldier. He sees you coming, but manage to slam into him, sending him into a wall. You drive away and let the infected pounce him, though two or three begin following your car. You reverse at full speed and knock them down, though your car feels strange now-- one of the soldier's stray bullets must have hit your car wheel. There are at least two dozen infected in this open intersection and your car won't make it more than a few blocks. The pregnant woman and her daughter are hiding behind a dumpster near a store, but there is no way that they'll survive long on their own. There is a dead soldier near a military vehicle, though one infected is on the other side of the vehicle biting into another soldier. You decide to

A. Get out of your car, quickly grab the soldier's rifle and any ammo he has, get back into your car, and drive away as far as you can in your damaged car

B. Grab the rifle, the ammo, and make your way to the pregnant mother and daughter in order to help them

C. Grab the rifle and run to the bank that the soldier made a break for, leaving the mother and daughter to fend for themselves

D. Forget the rifle as well as the mother/daughter, and drive away from this dangerous situation

Tie between B and C. Random generator gives us

B. Grab the rifle, the ammo, and make your way to the pregnant mother and daughter in order to help them

Though the situation is extremely dangerous, you figure that the risk of being overrun by infected is worth the reward of military grade equipment. You stealthily exit your car, leaving the door open and engine running. You also leave the empty rifle from the lodge behind. Some of the infected are ripping open the soldier you rammed into the wall earlier, others are running loose in the intersection, some down the road, and others are close by the mother and daughter who are hiding. You make your way to the military vehicle where an infected is on the other side of you, still distracted by the dead soldier. You look in horror at the corpse you are looting-- half of its face is bitten off, and the throat rend. The worst part of this scene is not the brutality of these deaths, but rather the sounds that the infected are making. Between the agonizing moans and the mangled words, you can tell that whatever parts of them are still human are clearly suffering and dying at the hands of this parasitic infection.

You quietly take the soldier's bloody vest, his rifle, and find two magazines in the vest pocket. He has some other useful equipment on it, but you have no time to take inventory of it yet. Your first instinct is to leave this immediate area, but some inkling of a conscience compels you to take care of the pregnant mother and her daughter-- you are a parent after all. You move along the side of the road, careful to avoid the attention of any infected. Your plan is to cross the road by moving down the street where you can't see any infected, then to come back around. You make it about two blocks down, successfully and begin to cross the road. You make it to the other side but suddenly hear loud screams behind you. You see two infected in a shop's uniform running directly towards you. Instead of attracting more attention by shooting your gun, you make a break down the road towards the mother and daughter; you do not trust your skills with a boxcutter enough to kill anything that isn't defenseless. Several other infected see you in the process and begin sprinting towards you. Instead of putting them in danger, you sprint past the garbage bin to a bakery, where you slam the glass doors shut behind you. You take aim at the door and see four infected ramming on the doors, their blood smearing all over it. You can see that the glass has slightly cracked in one of the areas that they are slamming. You make the decision to

A. Hide in the back of the shop, out of the view of the infected, until the coast is clear; this may take some time

B. Hunker down and prepare to become a one man army, gunning down any infected that may break through the door

C. Look for any alternate exits out of the shop that may allow you to sneak back to the mother and daughter

D. Try to let in one infected at a time and dispose of them using your boxcutter

You exercise restraint by not firing down on the infected in front of you. The ammo may be needed much more at a later point, either for infected or other humans. The glass probably won't last long with so many enraged infected banging on it. You decide to find another exit. You check the back area of bakery, ready to fire on anyone in there, but it is empty. You do, however, see a selection of artisan breads. You take a moment to eat a loaf of bread-- you're famished after all, and save a loaf for later breaking it into pieces and putting it in your vest pockets. There is a back door emergency exit, but through the window you can see three infected in the loading area, moaning in pain. You check the restroom and see the only other exit to this bakery, a window. You exit and sneak past the nearby infected, making your way along the road with your boxcutter in hand to stealthily kill any infected that sees you. It seems that your diversion tactic worked, as no infected are near the dumpster any more. You whisper for the woman and her daughter to come out, and she complies. You signal her to follow you back to the bakery-- at the very least the restroom will be safe. You manage to successfully get back, and close the window, breathing a sigh of relief. The woman thanks you for your help and hugs her daughter closely.

The time on your cellphone reads 3:30 PM-- you've spent quite some time here and it will be dark in 5 or so hours thanks to the long summer days. It is clear now that you won't make it home today, or possibly even tomorrow, so you need to plan on finding someplace safe for the night. With nightfall most major cities are sure to fall into full chaos thanks to military deployment and the increasing number of infected. You will need to find a vehicle that can be used, which shouldn't be too hard given the number of cars that were abandoned in the panic. You also need to help the mother and daughter by dropping them off at their home. You need to act quickly- you decide to

A. Wait for the immediate area to quiet down for an hour or so before heading out and finding a useable vehicle to pick up the mother and daughter.

B. Leave immediately and find a safe area to stay for the night. A car can always be found later.

C. Immediately look for a car and try to find shelter before sundown.

D. Abandon the mother and daughter where they are and look for a car to get home- your family is your primary concern

Sorry for the late update, been very busy lately.

A. Wait for the immediate area to quiet down for an hour or so before heading out and finding a useable vehicle to pick up the mother and daughter.

You decide to act cautiously and not tempt fate. You tell the mother and her daughter that you're going to wait for an hour or so to see if the infected nearby wander away. Who knows- the military might be able to fight these things away. Then again, maybe even more infected may start migrating this way. An hour passes by, though it feels like an eternity given the position you're in. During this time, your heart races each time you hear infected nearby yelling-- sometimes the noises get closer, sometimes they fade away. The woman's daughter is surprisingly in good spirits despite all of this chaos, but looks like her energy has been drained. You offer them both the bread you saved from earlier and they thank you for it. The woman tells you that she is a stay at home mom, and that she was bringing her daughter back from her sister's home when the emergency news started to broadcast. You tell her about yourself, your family, that you are a manager of a national electronics chain, and lie by saying that you were on a vacation when the outbreak occurred.

You can see that the sun is quickly dropping now- it is 4:35 PM and you need to make a move. You tell the mother to stay put here, and that you will pull up near this window without honking, so she needs to be ready to get inside. You rip apart part of your shirt underneath to cover your mouth and nose-- you don't want to take risks with the infection being airborne. You exit through the window and see that fewer infected are in the immediate area than before. You quickly make your way away from the intersection you were just at, arriving at a side road where you can see that two cars have crashed and been abandoned, with the doors wide open and blood smeared all around the car- poor bastards must have never made it judging by the amount of blood trailing away from the car. Further down this road you see several undamaged vehicles that look abandoned, but you can hear and see some infected there. Before you move in closer, you hear someone call out to you from one of the residential buildings here. "Hey, buddy, get in here, it's not safe," the man says. You see a balding man in his mid 30's calling to you. Perhaps he can help you, but you need to decide if it's worth the time investment. You decide to

A. Go inside of the man's home- you don't know him, but he may have a car parked here or he may be able to help you

B. Ignore the man and go for one of the abandoned cars down the street

C. Tell the man your plan to bring the car over to escape this area, offering him help

D. Go inside of the man's home, ask about any useful information, and kill him before leaving

You decide to trust the stranger, and signal him to let you in. A few moments later, the man opens the door and lets you into his home, locking the door behind him. You figure that this man must be well off, or at least earn a modest living, as he lives in this residential area right by such a major intersection. You introduce yourself and thank him for giving you shelter; he tells you a little about himself- he lives alone, works in sewage management, and is trying to escape the city as you are. He tells you that he tried to leave the city a few hours earlier, but the military had blocked off all exits at the time. Instead of getting stuck there or going to a military safezone, he came back home, hoping that the situation would mellow out. It is clear that his expectations haven't been met. You tell him about the woman and her daughter that you saved, and your plan to leave the city. He tells you that this is not a good idea, and that you should stay put for now. He tells you that his car is parked nearby and that you can all leave together when it's safer. He offers his home as shelter for the time being, and asks if you want to bring the mother and daughter here. You reluctantly refuse, telling him that you want to act now, and ask him if he is willing to let you take his car. With a heavy heart, he refuses, saying that he may need it later, and doesn't want to leave the city yet. However, he offers an alternate route- telling you that he knows the sewer systems well, and how to circumvent some of the military posts preventing people from leaving the city. With nightfall in a few hours, you decide to

A. Bring the mother and daughter here and stay the night, waiting to see how the situation is in the morning

B. Steal the man's keys and try to exit the city as soon as possible, picking up the mother/daughter on the way- brute forcing or sneaking past the military posts is the only way to get home

C. Plead your case with the man, begging him for his keys, and possibly getting him to join your "group." Having another able-bodied man with you could help with the challenges you may face soon

D. Ask the man for specific sewer system information, and try to find your own car- you can help the mother and daughter yourself.

^all the options involve helping them. at least with "a" it's possible to leave them there afterwards.

i voted to not help them the 1st time. who the hell goes to some random guy for help when the mp's were down the street?? obviously something is going on, daughter must be involved in some way. (infected or as a cure, etc.)
