A Woman in California named "Shawna" was left disgusted after she found a DEAD FROG in her SALAD at a California Pizza restaurant!!

She wrote a scathing Yelp review describing her experience at BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse and said "I was about 4 bite into it and i noticed it tasted a little different. I thought maybe the ranch dressing was a little bitter and after mixing the salad around some more i found a dead baby frog. Yes i said FROG!. I've never experienced in my life like that"

The manager offered compensation but she declined and said she was never eating there anymore and said "He explained that there produce comes from a vendor but don't they wash there vegs before serving. I told him this frog could contain salmonella and who know show long it's been sitting in a produce bag and he still made us pay for our drinks which consist of 3 beers total"

She was irate for that and having to find a new place for her party..she spoke to corporate but only offered her a $50 GIFT CARD which she said was a "joke".

Krysteen Romero, the General Manager saw her post and apologized for failing to handle the situation and said "We take situations like this very seriously and have launched an internal investigation including discussion with our suppliers and distributers"

I wouldn't have gave her anything. Seems like she got a free meal anyway. I'm not exactly sure how this left the kitchen unnoticed though.

BJ's aren't for everyone.

They don't cut their lettuce, they open the back and combine probably a spring mix and a romain or iceberg mix, and it was most likely just in one of those bags.

Still though, you do whatever you can to make this person happy, because that's disgusting.

She was given an apology, offered compensation, and given a gift card for her trouble.

I suppose they could've excluded the beers as well, but besides that, what exactly she thinks she deserves from this eludes me.

I'm aware of that. My brothers a cook at a pub and I've done catering work before. If the suppler doesn't wash the veg and they are aware of this then the cooks/chefs should. Checking food before it's sent out is extremely important.

Her eloquent appraisal of the situation aside, they didn't have to give her anything so the $50 is a bonus. I am surprised they didn't comp everything since it was only a couple beers but it's up to them.

I agree it is extremely important. But it is a little green thing.. the salad guy grabbed a handful of lettuce and dropped it in the bowl

Without checking agreed. Maybe this will be a lesson to them. Maybe not and if it's the later let's hope they don't get sued or worse. I'd hate for a place called BJ's to be closed down.

Ew, very disgusting. I would of took the gift card and avoid any of their salads in the future. Also, what restaurant doesn't wash their veggies? No telling how many hands has touched the stuff before getting to the restaurant, not to mention grit. Talk about a potential health code violation.
