Dont blame all kickstarters. Alot of great stuff came from it.

It is just star citizens has always been scummy and irresponsible sincec the start. Like overly ambitious project, how the pledges keep coning and they keep increasing their far fetched visions fron the start, plus those fucking like 5000 dollars for a fucking concept for a god damn vidiogame spaceship.

The project is wrecked like a politician's promises from the start. I kept saying that teh project will crumble and borderline a scam, people wouldnt believe.

Star Citizen has been a massive ponzi scheme for years now and I hope that not only does the company go under, but Chris Roberts and his wife both go to jail for fraud. We're far beyond "mismanagement" levels of bad choices and neither of them deserves even a moment of sympathy.

Yep. It's called Squadron 42. Also, don't forget that they've run a full convention dedicated to their game that isn't out yet for like 3 or 4 years in a row now. I'd be willing to bet most of the money was blown on useless vanity projects that they thought would be fun and not actual game development.

I almost backed it, but then I realized I'm too busy to play often, and most of my friends wouldn't be interested.

But why are so many people calling it an investment in terms of ROI? Nobody backs a kickstarter with the hope of getting money back. You should only ever back if you like or believe in an idea and want to support it or hopefully use the final product, knowing it may never get completed.

Looking at it, it seems they put up the entire company. The game, the building it's made in, the computers it's made on, any money they had left, etc. Literally everything​. The fact that they had to go that far means even the bank didn't think they should be getting any more money.

Seriously though, the game looked alright but their business model leaves a lot to be desired. For one, the whole 'pay real money for your ships' thing seems like taking what EVE did and going to far. Second, this whole way they keep ransoming the game makes me wonder why people are still loyal to them.

"Oh, we are almost done, we just need you to fund us some more because no studio was willing to back us, if you ever want to play the game, that is. Don't worry, this is totally a Cinderella story, and not the same video game scam people having been pulling since the early 90's".

I've had this game on my PC for about a year, and I open it up every now and then to see what has changed. It still plays the same as it did a year ago, and I'm not sure why I keep checking. There isn't any more to do than there was a year ago, either.
