Honestly if I asked her out and she said she wasn't interested it wouldn't bother me at all. Like I wouldn't feel awkward around her or anything. I don't know if she would feel the same way but I know it wouldn't affect me too much.

True, but our minds are more prone to remember the bad and operate based off it. Especially with it ending poorly with the bad memories being the most sore and recent it could spell problems unless you're both absolutely mature about things.

That's not to say it can't go well, or that you're both not mature. But unless you really think things can go well - that you're very sure - I wouldn't go for it because it carries the risk of making work awkward if not hellish if it ends on a sour note.

Granted, I was going on the assumption she said "yes". I can't see things getting any worse than awkward from simply asking her out - of course, what is beyond that should also be considered. I was thinking the potential that y'all get in a relationship but it ends on a bad note: it bodes poorly for workplace relations more likely than not in that case.

I have never actually been in a serious relationship so in theory I could see how things could go bad and how that would affect me, but at the same time I've never experienced that result so I can't really understand what it would be like.

If she says yes, great. Even if she says no, as long as you ask confidently and don't make a big deal about it when you do ask she won't look at you weird the next time you see each other. Just take it easy and ask!

It's generally not a good idea because A. If you're crushing hard on her and you get rejected, hanging out with her everyday will make you want her more, and B. If you date and you break up/it goes badly, you're stuck with each other.
