I can understand putting the year first. It's the most important part of a date, but there's no reason why day should come first in any calendar. Nobody gives a fuck that a historic event took place on the 15th. What matters is that it took place in May of whatever year. That's why we sandwich the day between the month and the year.

Descending order of importance is fine. Sandwiching the day between the month and year is fine. Putting the day first is just awful and no civilized country should ever use such a calendar.

The same should hold true for calendars. Don't even begin with the least important details. :v

Absolutely.

When choosing levels from lists in games, they should put the second to last level first because it's the one people care about (they always screw the last level by going ott). Then it should probably be the 4th level as second on the list because that's when the levels get good. The racing minigame level that's always about half way through the game should always be last on the list.

Sandwiching the least important part in the middle is perfectly logical.
