dont get me wrong, 3S gave us the most hype video of any video game ever, but XRD just oozes personality, an extremely varied and unique roster, great music, top tier visuals, the best freeform combo system yet, etc

Can't agree there, with how freeform and open UNIB's combo theory generally is.

That said, definitely agree with Xrd being the "coolest" fighter to date. Fast, flashy, great design, and amazing art direction.

mainly the top tiers and Exceeds, Active flow, nd overdrive in general

if anything people are making it out to be a worse CPEX.

CF is definitely worse than CPE overall besides the new characters.

It's the most balanced BlazBlue yet

Been following the game since its arcade days, as I do every BB. You could make the argument that the lower tiers are stronger than bottom tiers of the past (although these iterations of Kagura and Bullet are honestly probably the worst characters since CS1 times).

But the meta is completely dominated by the top 6 or so, to the point where very few characters outside of them actually win anything (aside from the occasional Fenrich Jin or Dogura Azrael win), and to the point that their very existence drops otherwise solid characters down to dregs of the tier list (see: Bang).

Bang in CF isn't anywhere near as awful as 100% useless CPE Hakumen / Arakune / Terumi / Amane

The balance in CF is as good as a fighting game with such a huge roster could possibly be, and it's really damn well balanced.

I mean, overall, CF is pretty damn well balanced, especially given its roster size. But it's still a step down from CPE's overall balance. Or more like, the lower tiers largely improved, but the top tiers became more cancerous; Arakune is probably the weakest of the CF top tiers but would still destroy anyone from CPE.

The only way they could be worse is if picking them froze the game

But they aren't close to being bad

I don't get the point of the example because CPE Haku lost to even the other dumpster characters

I just don't see it. Anyone who sucked was brought up to a playable level and anyone who dominated is still dominating

It's also worth noting how one of the biggest issues people had with CPE mechanically, the guard cancel Overdrive, is greatly exacerbated by the advent of active flow allowing for multiple bursts/overdrives per round, as well as the new Exceed Accels providing safe-on-block reversals when in OD.

You haven't actually seen how bad Kagura and Bullet are, have you? Kagura lost his one saving grace (enormous damage) for maybe slightly better mixup and being able to knock down after (which means nothing when he still can't get in) while retaining all of his weaknesses: incredibly slow, poor neutral, awful pressure that is easy to just up-back out of.

And Bullet? Christ. She was already barely functional before. Now she can't combo into her drive to build her heat gimmick. Her damage has been destroyed. She still has terrible mobility. She has worse oki. Still no good reversals at all. Laughable neutral. Command grab does nothing for her, especially without heat since that makes it so she needs to somehow close in again. New drive is a total nerf; the larger range doesn't help much for neutral due to it still having a long startup, while she lost the ability to combo into it, and she can no longer do red locks to make it positive on block. CPE Terumi at least had pressure; CPE Hakumen at least had burst damage; CPE Amane at least had a solid neutral game. CF Bullet has literally nothing good about her.

Also for anyone reading this stupid argument, feel free to tag me as a gigantic nerd, it's not a thing I can deny at this point lol

Funny enough, I played Central Fiction today at an arcade... not a big sample size obviously and it's the first time I've ever played BlazBlue...

It was cool, but I wish I was playing 3rd Strike instead :)
