The federal statute on witness tampering is interesting here. Under the statute it is unlawful to "engage in misleading conduct toward another person with intent to - influence, delay, or prevent the testimony."
Trump just actually admitted that he engaged in misleading conduct in an attempt to influence Comey's testimony.
Even if Trump's intention was "to make Comey answer truthfully," he's still engaging in misleading conduct with intent to influence testimony.


I think the excuse of "he's not used to being a politician" is really biting him in the ass. I mean, it's obvious he is out of his depth and surrounds himself with less-than-the-best advisers, so yeah.

Mueller's job gets easier every single day that goes by.
It's amazing how Trump is too dumb to just shut up and stop incriminating himself.

You're literally wishing to prove a crime out of a tweet. This is how little evidence there actually is. Nobody takes you anti-Trumpers serious anymore. Everyday it's "finally, this is the thing that shows Trump broke the law". And everyday it's nothing.

And just like the Muslim ban "that totally isn't a Muslim ban" the justice system actually understands little things like the law, unlike Trump and his cult.
So we'll see. Maybe his man Gorsuch will help him out, but there's no way this isn't serious. Brushing it off as "just a tweet" and saying there's no evidence is just putting your hands over your ears and trying to feel superior to everyone else who's aware of things.

Before he was fired he was supposed to testify in front of the committee as the FBI Director

After he was fired, he testified as a private citizen in a different hearing.
