o Minnesota Girl has a Condition that makes her look DECADES OLDER!!

Full Throttle 06/23/17 12:01:10 AM #1:	How old do you think Sara looks? Late 20s Early 30s Mid 30s Late 30s Early 40s Mid 40s Late 40s 50s+ View Results 26 y/o Sara Geurts from Minneapolis, Minnesota has a rare condition that makes her look DECADES older and is challening beauty standards in the modelling world!! She's hoping to break it in by making a career out of modelling despite having Dermatsparaxis Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, a genetic condition that leaves her with excessivly saggy skin that affects only 1 in 5000 worldwide but only TWELVE people have it!! It causes her to have soft, doughy skin that is extremely fragile and her joints and muscles are also weak and often leave her in discomfort..although she doesn't have the typical conditions that others with her condition have like brittle bones or dislocations, she has her own problems as she sometimes get pain. She said "I have noticed as i get older, my discrepancies and my pain to my symptoms play a larger role in my life. i refrain from wearing super tight clothes because the more i do wear it causes constriction and because of the extra skin it can rip and cause tearing" She relies on natural therapy like massage, acupuncture and MARIJUANA rather than taking opioids. She didn't always look like this as the condition only got worse as she got older and hit puberty when she noticed her skin changing and saw a dermatologist as she had severe acne and got sores on her hairline..it wasn't until High School when it became apparent and Sara had low esteem as she hid her body in hopes of not getting bullied. Thankfully, she wasn't bullied as her friends and fmily were supportive despite hating how she looked and after a difficult break up when she was 22, she decided to change how she saw herself and made photos of herself called "Love Your Lines" encouraging women to embrace their stretch marks, scars and other imperfections. From then on she's dedicated her life to raising awareness on this disorder as she's met otheer women like her struggling with certain conditions and wants to go to LA to give the modelling industry a try out and to connect with new people to get her story out there.
