Current Events > I finally watched Wonder Woman tonight.

Action scenes were amazing, really loved the music, and Gal Gadot was great as Wonder Woman.

Story was lacking a bit since I didn't even know what direction it had in the beginning and pacing really tumbled.

And that sucks there was no post credit scenes.

Thoughts if this movie truly saved the DCEU?

A lot is riding on Justice League because they're already going off the the most anticipated mashup of DC's greatest early on unlike how Marvel took their sweet time to introducing each Avenger first.

Superman and Wonder Woman got their own movies before JL. Batman literally just had three movies of his come out (I know it's not the same continuity, but he is the most popular superhero for a reason) and was a major character in his own right for BvS.
Who else do we have in JL? Aquaman, Flash, and Cyborg. Cyborg looks like he's gonna be a major plot point with his armor and stuff, and the other two are more well known than Thor and Cap were at their time.

I don't think there's anything wrong with jumping right into the team-up movie. If they built up slowly, they'd be accused of copying the MCU. No, better to do their own thing.
Honestly I think the movies get too much hate. The MCU has quite a few duds, the DCEU matches up with the middle of the road MCU movies, except for Wonder Woman which is solidly up there with the better MCU movies.

You're right that DCEU should do their own thing, but their track record is real sloppy from recent events.

The worst ones for me are Thor 1, Iron Man 3, The Incredible Hulk (although Norton >>>>>> Ruffalo), and Avengers 2.

If I actually had to rank them, Iron Man 3 is a hot steaming pile of shit, and Avengers 2 is only slightly better.

Hulk, IM2, IM3, Thor 2, AoU are all what I'd consider below any of the DCEU
IM1, Avengers, Winter Soldier and Civil War have been better than anything the DCEU has put out
The rest are all over the place with them mixed together, most likely with Wonder Woman at the top


Honestly I can't ever look past what Marvel did with Thor. His first movie was really on the meh side but at least it had some cool worldbuilding. Thor 2 was straight up insultingly bad.

People say this and it's always super confusing to me. Thor 2 was better than the first one. I get maybe you think if they're both bad, but I'm just not sure where people get by saying it's even worse than the first one.

I'm also someone who considers thor 2 to be the worst. it just felt all over the place in writing, atmosphere, etc. and really cannot stand any of the humans (especially kat dennings) except for Selvig (who was also overplayed here compared to his roles in the first one and avengers)


but then again it's very confusing to me that people hate im3. i'd honestly put it up there right under winter soldier and im1
so I realize my tastes are a little different

After letting hype die down from WW, I think BvS is the best movie so far.

If I was going to rank all 4, it'd be BvS, WW, MoS, and Suicide Squad.

If we were going to judge just the action scenes, though, MoS had the best action of the whole thing and I'm pretty hype for the Shazam movie because of it.

I fell asleep during Thor 2. But I don't really care much about Thor's mythology so that movie just plain wasn't for me.
