Actually, the blowing trick works in the short term but contributes to the problem. Your breath is warm and moist and will attract dust over time, which further impares the connection between the connector and the cartridge.

What you need to do is clean/replace the connector pin and all your cartridges.

If your NES is boot cycling, you'd be amazed how well it works after a $10 connector pin replacement and an application on all your games of 50% rubbing alcohol 50% water.
