I generally would go for a thinner, solid color tie. Depending on the shirt/pants/shoes/belt you're wearing with it, you might want to go for a pop of color in the tie.

Also I'm going with a full beard.
It's as neatly groomed as I could get it. Not the neatest you've ever seen but passable IMO.
