Go literally anywhere else.

Myrtle Beach sucks. Too crowded this time of year, and the beaches are shitty anyway.

Okay anyways. Anyone been to myrtle beach who has ideas on things to do and tips for keeping it cheap. Like a local grocery store or so on to get supplies and stuff.

I've been to Myrtle Beach.

.... Go to Folly instead. I mean unless the main reason you want to go is to go to an amusement park on beachfront you can go to another less crowded beach or a better amusement park elsewhere. It literally doesn't do anything that special.

I've always had fun at Myrtle Beach.
But I've only been there on family vacations and have not been there in 10 years (96,98,99,00,06)

So like, the Go Karts were fun, the mini-golf and real golf are great. The Ocean is warm but the sand is coarse. It's crowded.

The Pavilion was fun, but closed down in 2006.
I'd image that a lot of Myrtle Beach's soul has been lost since it's just a large grassy area with a zipline now.

I don't really know what you are after while there. Entertainment? Bars? Places to see? How long and why are you there? Also....North Myrtle Beach or Myrtle Beach?

I am going there for $99 for 3 nights. It is where I am going. Saying go somewhere else has no benefit to the discussion. I want to know how to enjoy my trip there. Not where else I could have went.

Double Tree OceanFront hotel. Dunno where that exactly is.

Going with 2 kids. Limited funds. Looking for cheap family fun.

Thinking maybe a helicopter ride.

For a serious answer the only fun I had there the three or four times I went was at the Ripley's Museum. Kinda expensive IIRC though.

Passes allow you into the Aquarium (decent) and at least 1 other Ripley's attraction depending on the tier. The Odditorium is what I was referring to, the place is awesome. The other two they list I haven't experienced.

So yeah, a bit pricey.

Probably something I won't consider cuz one of the kids is 2. He gets nothing out of it most likely.

Definitely Mini-Golf. There are plenty of good places to do that.

Broadway at the Beach has a lot of shopping and entertainment in a centralized location. Mini-Golf, Arcades, amusement rides, plenty of food, movies, ziplines and more all based around a man-made lake

There is like a downtown street that is similar where the Ripleys is (Next to where the Pavilion used to be, did VR there in the 90s *cry*). There is also a boardwalk there.

You could sneak into the massive amusement park they built in 2008 that has been closed since 2009. Where it had a name change in-between seasons with a re-branding of theming on rides.
Or you could just go to Family Kingdom. It has go-karts and a water park (That I walked to and used alone when I was 10) across the street on the beach. I would say there are better places for go-karts though.

There is a lot of entertainment at Myrtle Beach but I have no idea what things cost now since its been over 10 years.

The beach. I go down there with my family sometimes, and that's basically the only thing I'm interested in. Broadway at the Beach is someplace you can go after the beach I guess, it's something, but nothing too interesting. We actually go to Surfside Beach because it's closer to where we stay, it's just south, probably gonna be less crowded. Although if you're staying right on Myrtle Beach, maybe not worth it to drive down there when you can just walk to the beach from the hotel. Went to Rioz Brazilian Steakhouse last year which was pretty awesome, but probably gonna be outside of a tight budget.

It looks like your hotel is south of where most of everything is as well as being next to a state park.
So it looks somewhat secluded and may be less crowded.

I am fairly confident that I've played the mini-golf and Par-3 course next to your hotel as well like 17 years ago.

Broadway at the Beach is cheap (you can literally just walk around) and IIRC they do have a certain amount of kid rides there (maybe even some your 2 year old could enjoy).

We usually stay a handful of blocks away from that hotel, and realistically there isn't much to do except the beach without having to drive. There's a Food Lion nearby we always get groceries at and there are a buttload of mini-golf places around.
