Tanoomba 06/20/17 11:58:57 PM #1:	Brightness hurts our eyes because it has to. If we were safely able to stare at the sun, then that's all we'd be able to see. Our eyes wouldn't be fitted to detect less brightness, and thus we wouldn't be able to visually distinguish matter around us. Eyeballs that could functionally look at the sun and not receive pain signals would essentially be blinded on this planet, even if all the eyeballs see are rays of light.
