Kind of ruins the fun that Tesla fans go ga ga for in 1/4 miles and ludicrous mode. The article doesn't say what the dude was doing but just because it's called "autopilot" doesn't mean you can just fuck around. It isn't a self-driving car. Tesla's autopilot is not fully self-driving like Google's cars. It's just cruise control that stabilizes steering where as normally you will veer off to the side eventually in a normal car. Someone in the comments even said that they should consider calling it "Auto-Assist" instead of "Autopilot". If I recall there was a big lawsuit when cruise control first became a thing because some moron went into the back of her RV to make an sandwich while the bus was in cruise control so they had to change the description of what cruise control was.
