To me it seems like this a recent trend where companies just try to make a shit load of money and they don't give a shit anymore about making a good product.
You can see it in games, movies, other shit. They just try to make something that appeals to the dumb masses, the more money it makes, the better. There's no originality anywhere anymore. Why is this a trend that only started to appear recently? I get that this is a good business decision. Why should anybody put any effort into their products if the dumb as fuck 80 IQ people will just buy it anyway. You could literally put shit in cookies, literal shit, and say they are the best cookies in the world and people will buy them. Dumb people will even believe they are the best cookies even if they taste like shit, because they are shit. I get it. It makes more money Why did companies only start to do this recently? From what I remember people used to put a lot more effort in their products but 5-10 years ago it all started to change, why now? ... Copied to Clipboard!

Take into consideration dollar menus and $5 pizzas. Most people would prefer to have lunch at a proper casual dining restaurant, but nobody has the money. Applebees thinks millennial hate them, but they're competing with food that's practically free when nobody has money to fritter away on more expensive food.
When I was a kid, fast food was better, but there wasn't a dollar menu. Fries were cooked until crispy and golden brown and were salted. Now they're cooked in vegetable oil because vegetarians cried and had to ruin something else for everybody. --- Donald Trump voter ... Copied to Clipboard!
