$499 is high in the console world but if you look at the specs it's extremely powerful. Building a gaming PC that will hit it's reported results (4k 60fps) is a lot more expensive.

This is not factoring in peripherals. Also because of the streamlined nature of consoles you get more performance out of lower specs. So with incredible specs it's not out of the question for what they are toting. I await it's launch and the reviews from people with real models not running tech demos

People complaining about the price are silly and it just goes to show that they really don't understand what's inside the machine.

Hell, they have to be selling the console at a loss, as is.

My only issue is that they didn't bring up the processor. Both the PS4 and Xbox One ran at a laughable 1.6 and 1.7, respectably. It'd be nice if the Scorpio ran at ~2.5 or something.

2.5 is doubtful but only because it's an 8-core processor. Hopefully the games will be coded to support multiple cores and then lower clockspeed per core won't be much of an issue. I don't see why there is an 8-core processor if that wasn't the case though

I actually didn't know that. Based on the numbers, I assumed the previous consoles were merely running with dual cores.

No but still funny though. Microsoft may well sell more gaming pc then Xboxnew. Forza is not quite enough. Gears is dead, Halo is a joke.
