Current Events > Anyone here ever work for the US Postal Service?

My job is currently pretty shakey since the owner is selling the business off and it's looking like my department might get the axe. So I applied for the mail carrier job in a rural town about 10 miles south of me.

I got an email today telling me to take an online test tomorrow, and then a written test at a testing center after that.

If I get this job am I going to go crazy or is did the postal service take steps to stop that sort of thing?

My best friends girl works for the post office. Whole lot of hoops to jump through and interviews. The work itself is gonna depend on the area you are assigned. My friends girl is currently in the ghetto of Nashville. Whole lot of crazy shit happens there. Anyway, by the end of the year she'll probably be making $18 an hour along with all the benefits and shit. Not a bad gig for her atleast

lol I know I'm really just trying to get a gauge on how difficult the work will actually be.

It's apparently an "as needed" position that can lead to full employment within a year, but I get health benefits from the start and the starting pay is 17.50.

I'm kind of worried they will make me drive my own car cause it's a rural area, but the town itself is pretty small so it wouldn't be that big of a deal.
