There's a ton of ads in my local newspaper for medium services
Some of them say things like they are a great african medium (or some other name) using ancestral methods transmitted from generation to generation It promises reunion with an ex, job promotion, finding true love, things like that. And then it says that the results are guaranteed and you get your money back. I mean, I wonder. If you pay them for their services and it doesn't work, do you really get your money back? So that would mean there's no risk, right? --- I don't hate people, people hate me. ... Copied to Clipboard!

You won't get your money back lmao Yes that's what I suspect I mean if you pay 150 bucks or something... I mean, who sues over 150 bucks? It's going to cost more than the case is worth, if you consider the time spent, the parking cost at the court house, etc. Plus, even if the judge orders the guy to reimburse the money you still may not get it back. I mean, if the guy refuses to pay after the judgement, you have to hire a bailiff to execute the judgement, which costs money. And then, if you don't know what assets the guy have you need to hire a credit research agency to look him up to see what bank accounts he has where they can seize the money from, etc. It's just not worth the lawsuit. But I'm really curious... I mean, if I go see a medium and if he's so convincing that I actually am stupid enough to believe him, maybe it can have sort of a placebo effect? Say I'm super madly attracted to a hot girl at work and I don't really have the courage to make a move. If the medium can promise me that it's going to work because of some kind of spell he put on me, and if I actually do believe it, then just thinking that I have that spell on me could maybe give me the courage to actually approach the girl and get lucky. But the problem is that I'm kind of cynical, I don't really believe in their magical powers, so it's a shame... I wish I did, in a way, but I'm kind of unable to. Also, sometimes they offer services that include removing a curse. It can be more expensive, like this article shows: http://news.nationalpost.com/posted-toronto/toronto-man-charged-with-pretending-to-practice-witchcraft Newspaper publisher charged with witchcraft for promising to lift family curse for $14,000 --- I don't hate people, people hate me. ... No, of course not. It's performance art. If you go in expecting that and can enjoy that, then fine. But when they claim to speak to dead friends and relatives, it's very immoral. They're corrupting your memories of the real person. I agree. My mom told me a story about before I was born. My mom used to be a school teacher in the 70s. Once, there was some event organized by a medium that was connected to the school (I don't really know the details at all, I have to ask my mom. I think maybe that medium was a friend or family member of another teacher or something) Anyway, so my mom went there with my grandmother. At some point, the medium was kind of taking to random people in the crowd, and she said to my grandmother something like "I can see your husband's spirit above you, he says he misses you." Now, my grandmother spoke only Italian, but she understood some basic english, enough to understand that the medium said she saw my dead grandfather. The problem is that he was still alive!! So my grandmother didn't say anything but she immediately made the sign of the horn with both hands https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sign_of_the_horns The apotropaic usage of the sign can also be seen in Italy and in other Mediterranean cultures where, when confronted with unfortunate events, or simply when these events are mentioned, the sign of the horns may be given to ward off bad luck. It is also used traditionally to counter or ward off the "evil eye" (malocchio in Italian). --- I don't hate people, people hate me. ... Copied to Clipboard!
