1979 totally has that midsummer evening feel to it. Driving back home with your friends in the car, the window open a little bit to let the slightly cool summer air in while you regale your friends with stories of your best shots and flag captures. On the way home your mom asks you if you guys want to pick up a pizza for dinner to cheering and celebration. You pick up a triple decker stuffed crust pepperoni and head home. I have a general nostalgic feeling about the Smashing Pumpkins because when I was young an older kid said I looked like Billy Corgan. For some reason that comment has always stuck with me.

It's a very meloncollie nostalgia, but yeah. 1979 gives me stonger emotions than almost any other.
"The urgency of now" is something that constantly rings around in my head. Also, Meloncollie was the first CD I ever got, for my 5th grade birthday. It was the first time in my life that I had a lot of genuine friends. It was a cold, snowy November, but we took my boombix outside, blasted SP and did a bunch of stupid boy shit.
