I'm gay and I think girls should shave all that shit (except for their arms because girls with shaved arms are weird), but I just don't get why it became socially expected for women to shave when they have hair for the same reason men do.

there is an expectation that men remove this hair, as it is visible when wearing clothing. womens' legs are also often visible when wearing clothing.

men tend not to wear as much clothing that reveals their legs, and in general womens' sexual preferences are focused on the torso, which is usually clothed, and facial features

Men wear either shorts or pants. Women wear pants, shorts, dresses and skirts. Women obviously reveal their legs more

When I was a little kid I thought it was because men had shorter hair on their head and felt the need to compensate by growing hair everywhere else.

Probably not my best rationalization.
