People be asking what Pot of Greed does when it was banned almost since the beginning of time....damn I feel old.

I kinda voted Mirror Force being bullshit because that's a shitty trap card that pretty much rekts your entire offensive and plays mind tricks on you. Raigeki was pretty much banned too since I wouldn't think I'll be encountering it anytime soon back then.

Mirror Force is less of a problem now that every meta deck should be special summoning several times a turn. Plus there's plenty of good counters to destruction.

Does "deck thinning" mean that you want to have a a few cards as possible (the minimum)?

I've never played the game but I watched the show religiously so I didn't know that's what people aimed for. What was the minimum deck size, btw?

40 cards is the minimum. If you run out of cards, however, you automatically lose.

It mean's being able to get to cards you need faster

you can do this easier with a "thinner" deck than a full one

Min deck size in yugioh is 40 and you'll very rarely ever see anyone put more than 40 cards in their deck. The less cards in your deck the more likely you are to draw x(x being whatever card you want). By using cards that allow you to search your deck or draw you lower the number of cards in your deck and improve the chances a card you need is drawn in the future.

Of course you also don't want to deck yourself out since being unable to draw during next draw step is a lose condition afaik.

Do players usually aim to have only 40 cards then?

I remember one time Yugi beat a guy by making him run or of cards lol that was cool

EDIT: thanks Tmaster148

Basically you only run 60 if you're also running That Grass Looks Greener, a card that basically sends 20 cards from your deck to the graveyard. It's used for Infernoids and Lightsworn. But it got banlist'd so people don't really care anymore.
