Poll of the Day > Ok, so here my 2 main complaints about FF13 Lightning Returns so far.

(+) Yeah! (+)

1. I hate that everything is timed. I like to take my time and explore the game world. This feels like Majora's Mask (which I was not a fan of).

2. The plot. FF13 had cool and unique lore. FF13-2 went off the rails a bit/got kind of convoluted and unbelievable, but was still palatable. FF13-LR though is just...weird. It feels very forced and Jesus Camp-y. I fully expect the final boss to be God Warrior.



Honorable Mention: Complete lack of male fanservice. The FF series is usually really good about providing fanservice directed to both gay and straight people, but this game is basically just a non-stop closeup of Lightning's boobs.

I love MM, and the difference is that MM gives you the ability to slow or reset that timer.

Or even with "Radiata Stories," the progress of time was done arguably better than with "Lightning Returns." On the other hand... meh.

I micromanaged the hell out of that clock and ended up with plenty of time left at the end of the game and just slept the days away. I still hate that the clock exists though.

The game in general was not at all good though.

and it's terrible. lore wise it has nothing to do with anything we were even told about in the previous two games.

it makes absolutely no sense.

Yes, it does. It connects basically everything from the previous games, even things that weren't explicitly mentioned in cutscenes.

I agree on all counts.

1. The timing thing was plainly vexing. I understand that you get used to it down the line and the game really does give you ample time to complete missions and quests however the mental anxiety of the idea of being timed is just.....annoying and stressful and it didnt go away for me. Personally I didn't come close to grappling for time but still...I disliked seeing that timer. DX

2. The plot was just....strange. It felt like they just made an excuse to extend FFXIII into a trilogy. It felt rushed and forced. Really unnecessary. FFXIII was fine and all (not great) and the ending was fine. FFXIII-2 was nice but again unnecessary.

Aaaand yes. No male fanservice. Hahaha! What a shame. Too much of skimpy Lightning running around. And her body type is like..........banana type. No hips and not a very defined waistline and modest chest. Meh.

I could say "It sucks ass through a fancy swirly straw like the kinds you see on hats," but it doesn't have the same simple-yet-elegant kick as "bendy straw."

or those super hard to suck through straws that are supposed to flavor milk but taste like poopy

I never tried those, but I figured they wouldn't taste great. I'd much rather just add chocolate syrup to milk than use a fancy straw, if I still drank milk.

I'm sure Balor is an expert in tools involving suction. What's your take on this?

I own both LR and XIII-2 and have never played them. XIII was meh to me.

I'm still waiting for Squeenix to apologize publicly for LR, and to Offer $20 to take a copy off their hands. I'm not even going to consider playing LR until that happens.
