Neclord. I actually buy Lopen's suggestion that Squall would throw the SDS away in disgust and try to just Gunblade it, as he has no reason to think it wouldn't work. Then it won't and he doesn't win a battle of attrition with Neclord, dude is tanky as fuck and absolutely faster on the spell draw

I do not buy the Squall is dumb as fuck argument.

Strikes me as a very Squall thing to do, actually.

Squall Internal Monologue: I'm in a fight and now have two weapons, the Gunblade with which I've trained my entire life, and a broadsword that is currently berating me and calling me stupid. Gunblade it is.

Squall I think would get to the point of the SDS telling him Neclord can't be beaten by his gunblade. While he probably eventually tosses it for being a dick he wouldn't immediately.

Let's see. Even if you are correct... which I disagree...

Squall puts down his sds for the gunblade despite the sword saying you idiot you can't hurt him without me. And squall being super beta and probably listening to anything.

Hits neclord. Doesn't hurt him which has to be noticae. Its not like neclord is an animation where i just magically hits 0.

You are then saying Squall is too fucking dumb at this point to go... oh yeah I do need that sword?


That's even if he would drop it on the first place in a game where some of your say "lol mercs magic they can carry 8 weapons at one time".

Holstering the sword would just make the Star Dragon badger him even more. "How dare you holster the greatest sword in creation, ignorant human, I'll have you know your weapon is made of flimsy materials you probably bought at the nearest junk store..."

Agree with this. Squall is really big on the mission coming before personal feelings. Even in-game he's not really happy about being placed on the bozo squad but he doesn't ditch them either.
