Here's an article with actual pictures of the play. “NYC Play Appears to Depict Assassination of Trump,” Fox’s headline reads. (Readers must click a “read full article” button, five paragraphs into the story, to learn what the play is.) That doesn't exactly make it a tasteful decision to assassinate the president in effigy. Also, Caesar was not a villain. His death is depicted as tragic. They were so hellbent on killing off Trump, they didn't even care that the play they chose doesn't depict him as the villain they see him as. ... Copied to Clipboard!

This is one of the big problems with politics. For all of people's posturing, there comes a point where it simply boils down to, "It's okay when we do it."
If Hillary had won, and Republicans had put together a play depicting Hillary Clinton as Lady Macbeth, news media would have treated it like a hate crime against women. But we take a play where a political leader is assassinated, swap out the tragic victim for a president we really dislike, and it's a-okay. Even if it doesn't make sense from a narrative perspective, even if it's tasteless and petty. We hate this asshole so much, that anything we do is okay because we, the good guys, did it against him, the bad guy. ... Copied to Clipboard!
