I had four donuts yesterday. It had been months since I'd had sweets, nearly a year since I had alcohol. Cravings come and go, but yesterday I gave in. I had a cinnamon roll, a raspberry jelly-filled donut, and two apple fritters. Better sugar than liquor.

They're not even remotely in the same league. WW was at least a decent movie but it's still meh compared to all of their animated stuff and most of the MCU. But it's definitely a step in the right direction and very good progress on DC's part. Hopefully they keep trending upward.

I don't mind personal conversations like that. They're far more interesting than the banal shit people talk about every day.

Besides, people appreciate it when you take an interest in their lives and comfort them when something bad happens. I've made/deepened lots of good friendships like that at work.

I am very good about not sharing too many personal details. This age of social media addiction and the need to share everything to everyone is the issue. I get that sometimes you just need to talk to someone about your problems but there is a time and a place for everything. At work is probably not the best place.

But some people obviously do not mind sharing their lives with others. I just smile, say a couple of things, and move on.

I don't think that social media is the cause for people talking to each other that way. If anything, the age of information made it so that people broadcast their feelings online instead of face to face.

Privacy is a relatively modern invention. People used to live in small towns where everyone knew everything because they gossipped a shit ton. Now people don't know their neighbors. It's just a different kind of sharing.

People spend at least 40 hours a week at work, it's ridiculous to expect them to not be people with feelings for all that time especially when something bad just happened to them.
