I want to replay a game on Steam, but the product key has already been used on my PC I had almost 7 years ago.

So log into the Steam account you put the key into

So still no response on what game it is, and TC was confusing Origin and Steam, troll topic.

Moving on.

Holy shit, it's literally on page one.

Alice: Madness Returns.

Lrn2read.

Page one currently has 48 posts... <_< It's not that out of the question for people to not want to scan through all 48 posts to find a post you edited to include the title after several people already read the post... <_<

But yeah, that's just EA and they're the scum of the video game industry. I've never had an issue with a non-EA game, including having my Steam account on multiple PCs...

Same, I just wanted to vent. I'm replaying Call of Cthulhu instead.

And I'll only say it once more:

I only have 1 Steam account. I am using the exact same account I first played the game on. It does not allow more than one PC to install the game. Ever. It's EA's DRM

Or maybe don't edit your post 2 minutes after the fact for people who've already been in the topic.

The downside to PC gaming has always been that it's complicated and you can't always make it work.

Well that and the same deal with exclusives that any platform has.

Although it's come a long way since the days of choppy framerates and domination by adventure, strategy and tycoon games.

So PC gaming is a joke because EA fucking sucks? By that logic console gaming is also a joke.

If you bought it through Steam the key would still work unless it otherwise gave you a warning when you bought the game or lunched it for the first time. How does user error make PC gaming a joke?

warning everyone that your service/product sucks when they go to buy it doesn't make it suck any less

It's not steam's product. It's EA's.
The warning tells you that it uses a third party DRM and basically steam has no control over that.
Ultimately it's EA being a bitch as usual, but this doesn't look bad towards steam or pc gaming in general.

It just makes EA look bad which is par for the course.

I'm fairly certain you can contact EA's customer service and they will reset it for you.

if only EA wasnt such a big player in terms of gaming

I don't really have anything against pc gaming overall but just the fact the thing that happened to tc is a thing that can happen disgusts me

This problem would never happen with modern games, especially on Steam. Your game licenses are attached to your account and there's practically no limit to the number of systems you can sign in to and play your games on, outside of a few exceptions.

Alice Madness Returns came out during a very dark time for PC gaming, but those ass backwards practices are long gone now... unless you buy a Ubisoft game
