Do most people not buy a monitor when they build a PC? There's no way in hell I'd connect my PC to one of my TVs. Tacky as fuck

There are low latency streaming methods as well as HTPC cases that are perfectly presentable in an entertainment system setup.

Is it 4k native AND 60 fps

If not, who cares

1080-> 4k isn't even the kind of leap that 720 to 1080 is. It's practically a meme

FPS is what matters, and if the X is stuttering because of its muh 4k, then it's garbage

Nailed it. We need to see the console actually running high end games at max settings to make a fair comparison. Idgaf how cheap it is or what it can run in 4K if it can only run 20 FpS or stutters

That's completely irrelevant to the topic you made though...

right... but you asked me why i dont get a PC didnt you?

I meant in the context of the topic you made. If you're speaking purely from a price to performance perspective, why wouldn't you get the objectively better platform for that?

that's not why i made the topic. people are trying to say the price is a ripoff when in fact an equivalent pc is more expensive (that's not even with a mouse, keyboard or 4k monitor)

A good htpc set up would add a few hundred bucks to the final price tag.

You know the One X doesn't come with a 4K display either right

the only 2 games they've talked about it in depth, yes. (forza 7 and battlefront 2)

These games are 60fps on the lower models too.

You can do whatever you want. That's what makes PC gaming cool. I plug mine into the TV and use it as a glorified console.

Same as it ever was, he's trying to include as much as possible in the cost of the PC while ignoring all the outside costs on a console. He's leaving off controllers, TVs, XBL subs, and god knows what else you'd need to compete with a PC

For what it is the price isn't a rip off. That doesn't mean it equals a $1,000 PC though.

Also, I have no experience with this, but is a console set-up even going to benefit from 4k that much? If it's in your living room then the TV is much further away from you than how a computer screen is. And with that in mind, is the X worth the double price? AFAIK it's not gonna have anything that the normal One can't play, right?

I think the hype for 4k is overblown by these companies yeah.

And no the Xbox One X won't have any exclusives outside of VR games. Which they never talked about so maybe that's been scrapped.

MUH EDGE PIXELS

Get a quality 4k TV that's a good enough size to really benefit from it (so 55"+) and then run some native 4k content on it. It's much more than that.

Not really, there's tons of budget HTPC options that aren't horrendous.

That's not what the title or OP says though. You wanted a price to performance spec comparison and the PC still represents the better value overall for the same price.
And you can get a perfectly decent kb/m combo for the same price as a $60 controller, or less. And idk why you're trying to say the price of a monitor is a factor, it's not like the Xbox comes with a 4k TV or anything. Either way you're still gonna been to buy one or have already bought one, so nothing changes there.
