Like in pillars of eternity and some they eventually released a story mode for people who dont really want to enjoy the mechanics or a noobie, as long the default/core mode are hardcore and complex.

I heard alot of people and 'hardcore fans' complaining whenever devs do this, but i absolutely prefer casual mode than dumbing everything down and forcing people to play a certain way.

I dont definitely mind if souls game have easy mode too.

Having options are great and it is actually a good way to please both newcomer and hardcore fans.

millenials are hitting 25+ age range and we don't have time to grind out skill in games to beat it. just want to hit all the main stuff and complete it for the experience. "hardcore" gamers need to stop crying about normal / story mode difficulty.

Same, really. No one forces you to play on the dificulty, so complaining just gives evidence to people's views on gamers of being children.

Dragon's Lair Trilogy has a "movie mode" to just watch all the awesome Don Bluth animation, and skip the thin excuse for a "game" they all try to be.
