Bad idea, considering half the fucking games take place in completely different universes.

No.

Animated universe I can get behind. Not Cinematic. Many Nintendo series are way too cartoony to comfortably convert to live action.

Of course, there is the issue of the fact that the games don't have a shared universe in the first place. Individual series, particularly ones with some semblance of storytelling like Zelda and Metroid, could be converted into cinematic universes on their own.

Of what? The Mushroom Kingdom is nothing like Hyrule and absolutely a different universe than Kanto, which itself is an adaptation of part of Japan.

Metroid, F-Zero, and Star Fox all take place in the same galaxy. Samus Aran is a renowned bounty hunter.F-Zero is a popular underground racing sport. Samus and Captain Falcon have crossed paths on a few occasions due to bounty hunting.

Kirby's homeworld exists in an unexplored galaxy along with Mario's world. Mario, DK, and Wario all live on the same planet naturally.

Fire Emblem is in the same galaxy at Metroid, Star Fox, and F-Zero but due to it being relatively primitive, that solar system is left alone.

The Legend of Zelda is in an entire different section of the universe.

I feel like adding to this because this amuses me:

You know, in Kirby 64, the level Shiver Star looked like a frozen Earth. Sounds like prime opportunity for crossover world building by making the Nintendo universe a far future of our own.

The intergalactic societies of Metroid and F-Zero are what happened after humans abandoned Earth to explore the stars. Furthermore, making the Kirby and Mario part of the galaxy, which contains our solar society, an "off-limits" sector, maybe due to not only the presence of the ruined Earth, but also because of all the weird stuff that happened which formed the cartoony Mario and Kirby part of the universe in the first place.

Is this literally what they said? Because if so, that's crazy balls.

You realize that animated movies exist, right?

I was thinking "Cinematic" in the context of live action.

Not really, but it could fit nicely.
