Gambit!

We started off with 100 characters from the Marvel Universe that were nominated by CE, and after 98 rounds of slowly whittling down the competition, we got down to just two characters, Gambit and Punisher. But after an incredibly close final round, Gambit squeaked ahead at the very end, beating Punisher 21 to 20.

Thank you guys for participating. Did your character make it as far as you were hoping, or did they get knocked out early?

Also looking at suggestions for the next one of these I do. Marvel vs DC will be happening at some point when Kely finishes his contest, but I'm probably gonna do another one in the mean time.

I'm considering doing a broad "Save That Video Game Character" contest with nominations, but feel free to suggest other options.

It really sucks that it had to end on the low note it ended on. I'm just gonna try to ignore that drama because it was an otherwise great contest with a lot of unexpected wins/losses.

A few of my nominees went out fairly early when I missed a topic or majority of one since I was the only one who voted for them. The only one that really hurt was my fav, Hulkling, missing top 50, but oh well.

I'm glade Gambit won over Punisher. Very close.

I didn't expect Quark to get as far as he did. My goal for him was just top 50!

It was a very unpredictable F2, and that's what I like to see!

Save that Video Game characters is a good idea...so is celebrities!

When I did my bump I wandered in and counted (thanks for the count partway through), saw Punisher ahead, and bumped. If Gambit had been ahead I wouldn't have >_>

My personal favorite Marvel character, I had Gambit everything as a kid in my room, collected all the comics. I'm happy with this result, well deserved and a solid competition. Thanks for the effort Waffle.

Kiwi, a fam shitposter, used an alt with 3 karma and no other active posts aside from his one tiebreaker vote at the end of the topic to try to make Punisher win. He got called out as an obvious alt and then got on another obvious alt with like 50 karma on an account from 2012 and again no active posts aside from in that topic to agree with his other alt account,
And despite claiming not to be alts, they were talking about how Waffle does these topics each week and trying to insult him among other things. It's the only shit stain on an otherwise great contest.

It was tied up at the deadline so it was extended, the first new vote would've decided it, which is why Kiwi tried to use an alt.
