Introvert here.

I work in IT Analysis. Full-time job is with a Marine Insurance Company, not exactly an exciting career. However, part-time I do IT Analysis for a video game Publisher, this might be more up your alley. You have the option to telework or go into the office and the only other people I interact with are also introverts (INTJs for the most part). So generally speaking we are all awkward or we have our headphones in. It sounds unfriendly but it's really not. If anyone brings up a topic we all enjoy, such as video games sometimes we do not shut up. Also, having the creative gene is great for IT Analysis.

what does IT analysis entail

For the most part, I analyze and test code to see if there is an opportunity for improvement. I work closely with the Quality Assurance team in that regard. I also manage software, hardware, networks, etc. Hybrid thinking is starting to be considered in place of design thinking, so figuring out how that is incorporated into our current systems is a big part of my job these days and where the creativeness comes to play. (Though the coding can also get quite creative. Not so much in an artistic way, but in a way where you are trying to create X using Y and determining if using Z would be better.)

not to shit on tc's parade but we have too many kids that were told were "creative" and "good at computers" these days. to someone's 70-year old gradmother, being able to open photoshop and put a filter on a picture is both. she'll tell you you'll make millions one day.

again, not trying to shit on your parade, i'm sure your art is great.

Self publishing. Reading online, it's not just the quality of the writing that matters to publishers. A lot of it is just being marketable and getting sales, which often includes sacrificing artistic integrity to meet the demands of the publisher.

I never wanted to make a bunch of money writing, I just wanted to write, so I am. I suppose I'll know how well it works when I'm completely done with my first book and the first wave of sales come in. I have about 30 people atm who want a copy, I'm just waiting on an ISBN, copywrite, cover artist and finding the right publishing company while I work on promotion.

I create music and have a bachelor's degree in music composition. I have written hundreds of pieces of music. Talent? Yeah? Do I know how to show that talent to world? Hell no! It doesn't help I have social anxiety and ptsd from religious trauma. I'm not making excuses, but just stating facts.

I'm currently working retail and sometimes have a side job to make extra income. I have worked a full time job with benefits in the wrong fields and had to quit. Money isn't my main goal. I would be happy barely living if I was doing something I love. That's just my personality.

Idea 1:
YouTube.

What is a show people are really getting into these days? Hmmm, American Gods, Handmaids Tale, Game Thrones are all good go to.... find a show people are talking about and make a music video.

Movies? Video games, it doesn't matter, figure out whatever is popular. Cut some scenes from it, add your music to the background.

Super cheesy, I know, but the show/game/movie will draw attention to your video and you will receive many "Does anyone know where the music is from?" comments. People used to do this with the CG scenes from Final Fantasy or anime shows all the damn time.

Idea 2:

Simply have a contest. "I wrote this song. The band or person who performs it best wins ______ send your submissions to ______" Post it on twitter and let the power of social media work for you.
The prize can be anything, an Amazon card with some cash, the potential to work with you on another song, even just the honor of being the winner, etc. If the contest gets large enough, companies will donate prizes. While people enter your contest they are spreading your music to their friends and families.


Not the greatest ideas but it's a start.
